This image was returned by the European Space Agency's Huygens probe following its successful descent to Saturn's smog-enshrouded moon, Titan. The event marked the first-ever landing of a craft on the surface of a body in the outer solar system. Huygens was carried to Saturn by NASA's Cassini spacecraft, which also supplied power for the probe's batteries.
The image was taken with the Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer, one of two NASA instruments on the probe.
