"Though the possibility of existence of life on Titan is unlikely, the awe-inspiring facts revealed about it, trigger our imagination to land us somewhere on the mammoth moon in fantasy. With a nitrogen-rich haze layer surrounding the surface, the chemicals (hydrocarbons) in the atmosphere are responsible for the frozen poles and the bulk of cooling. Certainly, to land on this gigantic body, one would wish to be a polar bear, all indifferent to the weather bashes. For a person like me, chilly nights and parky evenings have all the stuff to amaze and visiting Titan would be a dream comes true.
Titan is a strange place with many enigmas still to answer, so exploring such a mysterious place would unravel the truths. The chemical make-up in the atmosphere has all the chemistry involved. From nitrogen to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and from PAHs to even aerosol particles, all contribute in forming the dense layer of atmosphere on this homogenous body. Owing to the fact that I’m particularly interested in the way things merge up chemically, irrespective of how different they look individually, Titan’s atmosphere intrigues me, by all odds.
I want to explore Titan not only because I has got some chemical blend in the atmosphere but methane rainstorms and liquid hydrocarbon oceans at its surface land us in another chapter of chemical bonding and molecular structure. So, saying that I’d become a chemist inside out simply by exploring Titan, holds me to the stance. Research says that Titan is the only world besides Earth that has standing bodies of liquid, including rivers, lakes and seas on its surface. In addition, Titan also has huge amounts of oil and gas reserves than Earth. This prospect can open up doors to further explore the moon.
In addition to all the peculiarities, Titan has yet not stopped amazing the researchers, booting out new mysterious each decade. What fascinates me is that Titan is thought to have a subsurface ocean of water. Now, this can hint the possibility of existence of life on Titan. Though the researchers have yet not come to a conclusion on this, but certainly, these environment friendly aspects can suggest something as Titan has all the elements necessary for supporting life, in profusion.
