Nunca mais serei a mesma

Prazer, meu nome é Anna Letícia Schneider e trabalho na NASA desde os meus 23 anos, e, atualmente, com 27, estou inserida na parte que estuda sobre a exploração das galáxias, planetas, luas e muito mais. Ao longo de toda minha vida, sempre estive interessada em astronomia, matemática, física… e por isso, sou formada em Astronomia pela faculdade do MIT, onde despertei um interesse ainda maior pela minha atual profissão. Ainda durante a faculdade, ingressei em um estágio na Nasa e hoje em dia, já desenvolvi uma grande carreira, aprofundei meus conhecimentos e gerenciei diversos projetos.

Atualmente, eu e minha equipe estamos trabalhando em um projeto que tem como objetivo explorar uma das luas de Urano, e a escolhida por nós, foi a Lua Titânia. Os nossos critérios para a escolha foram diversos, tais como sua superfície avermelhada que desperta interesse, a origem de seu nome, a história por trás de sua descoberta, aspectos gerais como o interior e tamanho da lua e muito mais.

Após diversos estudos, vimos que a origem do nome foi inspirada em Shakespeare. Há também algumas hipóteses sobre sua real formação, estudo e observação dos fenômenos pelos quais a lua já passou. Buscamos também melhor entendimento relacionado aos aspectos da sua superfície e de seu interior.

No encerramento da expedição, produziremos relatórios e artigos acerca de tudo que descobrimos, como forma de compartilhar nosso conhecimento. E conviver com todo o processo que envolve a expedição e ainda a ansiedade do tão esperado dia, faz com que tudo isso seja muito incrível.

My name is Anna Letícia Schneider and I have been working at NASA since I was 13 years old, and currently, at 27, I am part of the studies that explore galaxies, planets, moons and much more. Throughout my life, I have always been interested in astronomy, mathematics, physics. For this reason, I have a degree in astronomy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where I had my interests raised even more towards my current profession. During college, I started an internship at NASA and nowadays, I have managed a fulfilling career, I have deepened my knowledge and managed several projects.

Currently, my team and I are working on a project that aims at an expedition for the exploration of one of Uranus' moons, and we have chosen Moon Titania. Our selection criteria were diverse, such as, its interesting reddish surface, the origin of its name, the history behind its discovery, and also general aspects, such as its interior and its size - and much more.

After several studies, we have learned that the origin of the name was inspired by Shakespeare. There are also some hypotheses about its real formation, and some studies and observation of the phenomena throughwhich the moon has already passed. We also seek better understandings related to aspects of its surface and interior.

At the end of the expedition, we will produce reports and articles about everything we have discovered, in order to share our knowledge. Experimenting the wholeprocess which involves the expedition, added to the anxiety of waiting for the actual day, makes it all be such an incredible experience.
